During the manufacture of huge windows, it is important to test, via a destructive test, the absence of defect in the window.
This test is carried out in a big dimensions furnace that is electrically heated and in which a thermal gradient is applied on the windows to be tested.
If a default is present in the window, the mechanical stress induced by the thermal gradient will blow up the defective window.
