The
production of galfanized wires is linked with 2 families of tanks that are aimed
at containing Galfan :
- The "metallic" tanks in cast iron
- The ceramic tanks with immersed burners or heating cover
Both technologies have their advantages.
The technology of the tanks in cast iron is allowing an absolutely
remarkable accessibility to the wires on both sides of the tank, what is very
significant for the threading-up operations of the wires that are sometimes
very thin or thick and that require some special precautions in both cases.
Such tanks, which are also known for their capacity to work in electric heating,
have already been supplied by FIB to many customers.
As far as the use of ceramic tanks is concerned, a preference
is given to the ceramic tanks with immersed burners. Indeed, the presence of
"floating" dross in Galfan is leading to the fact that the system
with immersed burners is allowing a much more easier gathering of the dross
on the bath.
